To start off I suppose some people would be interested in learning a bit about who I am and why I do what I do.
My name is Randy, I am in my 40s, am married 14 years have 4 great children and a loyal dog. Over my lifetime some bad things have happened with my health and slowly I was becoming dependant upon perscription drugs to get me through the day, everyday.
I suffered Arthritis pain up and down my left side and it had me taking Novasen to relieve the pain and swelling. http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=1498
And since I was in a coma in 1986, I was being treated for depression with drugs called Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRI).
First it was - Zoloft: http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=375 which I kept forgetting to take on time so my Doctor placed me on Prozac: http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=369 then after having issues with this drug my Doctors final choice was - Effexor XR: http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=1781
(Here is a medical advisory for http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ahc-asc/media/advisories-avis/2006/2006_11_e.html)
Then as time passed, there was remaining scar tissue on spots of my brain that over time took to swelling and causing me severe migraines, so my anti-inflamatory medication became - Nono-Methacin: http://chealth.canoe.ca/drug_info_details.asp?brand_name_id=250 which my family Doctor told me would rot my stomach in a few months and if this happened I should come back to see him. Well six months or so later I needed to see him again and he suggested that I take another perscription to coat my stomach to reduce the effects the novo-methacin was having on my digestive system. I really didn't like perscription drugs in the first place so I started to think, if this new pill will coat my stomach to protect me from the side effects of the other drugs then maybe it will also limit the obsorbtion of vital nutrients I needed from my food. Well that was it, I personally reduced my dose of SSRIs by taking a medicinal food daily and slowly stopping the need for SSRIs all together and I have stopped taking any anti-infamatories at all by replacing them with a specific juice I have been drinking since the new year (2007).
Life hasn't been better for my family and I because WE no longer suffer the side effects of the drugs I was on and since I found the medicinal foods I now can help people like myself who have suffered or may be on the road to suffering similar issues with drugs. That is a summary of my life and I would like to advise anyone to take a look at all the side effects of the drugs I have listed and then do a little research for other drugs listed on the site I have used that may be part of your life or a loved ones life. Then decide if going natural isn't better.
