hi one and all,

does anyone out there have a child or are themselves anaphylaxic to anything?

i have a five year old who is anaphylaxic to wasps.

that is not hard to handle,

but i have a 3year old who is anaphylaxic to peanuts/treenuts and eggs, now that is as hard.

people say to me what are you going to do?

well i can't hand him back to the hospital and say fix it so i deal with it and try to let him lead a normal life. it is hard but you just go on. so does anyone else deal with it

let me know!!! i was in the shop getting bread the other day and while i was reading the bread a lady came up to me and said what has your boy got, i said eggs and before i could finish she said her baby was allergic to eggs and she did not know how to deal with it.

i said my boy is also allergic to peanuts and tree nuts but you go on and make them not feel like they are missing out

so anyone who wants to talk about it let me know

thanks

smurf

Hi Peta,

Yes I know what you mean about not letting them miss out.... One of the hardest things a parent has to deal with...

However when it comes to health you simply have to do what you have to do.

Do you have quality health people that you deal with regarding yourself and your kids or do you visit the local doctors....

There are some great Nutritionalist's and Naural Therapy type people who can help with a wide range of allergic reactions these days when it comes to kids....

Perth has a great range of Natural healers who are spiritual also, so if you did think that was the way to go then I would do a little research and start looking at the alternatives....

Strangely enough some of these things have to do with the body and spirit as a whole, so I reckon you can get some answers from alternative sources rather than mainstream medicine....

It is great that you have already worked out what they are allergic too, thats the first step to treating the cause rather than the symptoms....

I don't have anyone in my close circle who have anaphylaxic, but I will ask around in my travels....

Have you done much research on google and checked out a few groups yet ? There will be groups online specialising in those conditions....

Hope this helps

Have a great Day

Clayton J

clayton,

as much as i would love to say natural healing would work he is under the top doctor here a dr low and there is no help

a peanut or cashew would kill him

he reacts so fast it is hard to believe

he lips swells and his throat and he stops breathing and has an anaphlyaxic shock and needs a epi pen straight away

thank goodness we are so on top of it that it has not happened for about a year

but he has blood test every 4 mths for it

as for eggs he might grow out of that

so i just watch everything he eats and touches

thanks though for the thoughts

peta
